Used XCMG XE35U Buyer's Guide: Hours, Hydraulics and Undercarriage
| ChinaSupplyChain
A compact excavator is bought for productive hours, not appearance alone. Before purchasing a used XCMG XE35U, verify its identity, working hours, hydraulic performance, undercarriage wear and transport configuration. This checklist is designed for remote and export buyers.
Configuration note: official XCMG pages show that specifications can differ between market versions and production years. Confirm the serial plate and actual machine; do not combine figures from different brochures.
1. Verify serial number, year and working hours
Ask for photos of the serial plate, hour meter and machine labels. Cross-check the hour reading with service records, controller data where available, pedal and joystick wear, seat condition and undercarriage wear. A low meter reading without supporting records requires extra verification.
2. Insist on a true cold-start video
The video should begin with the engine visibly cold and include the dashboard before startup. Watch for difficult starting, excessive smoke, warning lamps, uneven idle, abnormal knocking and visible blow-by. Test at low and working engine speeds and check for fuel, oil and coolant leaks.
3. Load-test the hydraulic system
Operate boom, arm, bucket, blade, swing and both travel motors until the machine is warm. Look for cylinder drift, slow or jerky movement, weak digging force, unusual pump noise and leaking rod seals or hoses. Cycle any auxiliary hydraulic circuit and confirm coupler compatibility with the intended attachments.
4. Measure undercarriage wear
Tracks and running gear can represent a significant repair cost. Inspect rubber tracks or track chains, sprockets, idlers, rollers and tension adjustment. Photograph both sides in close-up. Uneven wear may point to poor tension, alignment problems or extensive travel on hard surfaces.
5. Inspect pins, bushings and structural repairs
Check play at the bucket, arm, boom, swing bearing and blade joints. Inspect cylinder rods for pitting and scoring. Fresh paint around welded areas deserves closer examination; ask whether any boom, arm, frame or counterweight repair was performed and request repair documentation.
6. Match the machine to the job and shipment
XCMG has presented the XE35U for compact work environments including municipal and agricultural applications. For the actual project, confirm digging depth, lift requirements, tail-swing clearance, attachment flow and site-access width. For export, record the real transport length, width, height and weight with the selected cab, blade, bucket and attachments.
